Without question, Kid Kenobi is the greatest Australian breakbeat DJ.
Since his early beginnings behind the decks in 1996, Sydney based Kid Kenobi has steadily risen to his current place – and we can proudly say we’ve been there the whole way.

True Kid Kenobi fans will remember those early 00’s shows at Ambar; heaving with bodies and sweat and sound they were so-thankful-to-be-part-of-it-all type stuff. He really was the poster child of the Australian scene while Australia, particularly Perth, was the epicentre of breakbeat – and he’s been brilliantly tapping in to those fond memories with a recent run of mixes and sets dedicated to that amazing era of music. And that’s exactly what you can expect from him on Saturday 26 June = a classic breakbeat set from Kid Kenobi.

Ask anyone from any era of the Perth dance music scene and they will tell you – Greg Packer is the best.

Look at gig flyers from the 90s, 00s, 10’s and Greg is on lineups of the biggest gigs to come to Perth and the biggest gigs made in Perth.

Packer is a pioneer of dance music in Australia – especially in drum n bass and breakbeat. With ever-increasing success as a DJ since the early 90’s, his more recent achievements as a producer have continued to establish his dominance both locally and even overseas with past releases on a range of labels and on LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records.

Master of many sounds – Greg Packer joins us in full command of a Jungle Classics Set.

2020 may be a year most wanna forget, but it was a year to remember for breakbeat: the return of Mr Heavyweight Breaks, Skool of Thought.
Skool Of Thought is the man behind Against The Grain, SuperCharged and Cool & Deadly record labels – home to the likes of the Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, Ed Solo and of course Skool of Thought.

As producer he has created such classics as his own album ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ which features tracks ‘When I Was a Youth’ and ‘Love Your Life’ and was album of the month in DJ Magazine amongst others. Prior to this, tracks including Groove Armada ‘Superstylin’ Breaks Remix and Freestylers v Pendulum ‘Painkiller’ Breaks Remix are up there with some of the biggest and best Breaks records of all time.
As a DJ, he has released mix albums including Heavyweight Breaks and Breakpoll Vol 2 where he cemented his name for pushing his bass-heavy sound. Heavyweight Breaks was SO iconic he pushed out a 2020 version – join the hype on Soundcloud.
Originally from the UK, Skool of Thought has DJ’d all over the world, and was so popular in Australia he eventually moved here.
It’s been a long time since we’ve had him and we can’t wait for this reunion.

Can’t wait to see you and your crew – one more time!
