Revised Nightclub Trading Hours: WA

The Government of Western Australia has implemented restricted trading hours for Nightclubs across WA.

Ambar and Villa received notification from the Director General of the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor that, effective 17 January 2011, all nightclubs must cease trading at 5am on weekends (Friday night/Saturday morning and Saturday night/Sunday morning).

From the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor:

Liquor Control Amendment Act 2010

The Liquor Control Amendment Act 2010 was assented to on 8 December 2010. The implementation of the new laws will take some months to fully achieve, however, the Government has decided to introduce certain provisions effective from 17 January 2011.

Of most significance to the nightclub sector is that the permitted trading hours for Nightclub licenses under section 98A of the Act will be reduced by one hour on Friday and Saturday nights. This means from 17 January 2011, Licensees will be required to cease trading at 5am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

For the full statement, visit the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor’s website here.

Please keep in mind this is a compulsory measure across the board and ALL nightclubs, including Ambar, must adhere to this new provision. It is not the fault of our door staff or security, so please don’t take any frustration out on them.
