Boomtick Head- Honcho inducted into the Hall of Fame

Perth Dance Music Awards

Over the last 12 years the Perth Dance Music Awards have become an institution, anticipated by many as an award night unparalleled. Boomtick have featured consistently in the last seven years, with both Ambar and Breakfest taking out the awards in their categories since 2003, our DJs receiving award after award and Boomtick itself winning the Outstanding Contribution award five times.

In 2010 the Perth Dance Music Awards have a new category which recognises achievements in electronic music, and is reserved exclusively for DJ’s, producers and promoters. The Hall of Fame nominees were required to have had a significant or memorable impact on the Perth dance music scene, their careers were required to have commenced at least five years prior to the year of proposed induction and they were nominated by Industry representatives. Here’s what Liam Mazzucchelli had to say about being inducted into the Hall of Fame:

“It feels great. How could it not? However, I do feel like it’s a team award as much as an individual honour. I haven’t done it all on my own – there has been a fabulous team of high achievers around me since the beginning…

I think the Hall of Fame is a natural and logical addition to an already successful and established PDMA history. The PDMA’s are an excellent way of galvanising our industry and a way for us to recognise each other’s efforts and achievements.”

In light of his Hall of Fame induction, Mr Mazzucchelli and Boomtick have stepped aside from the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ category, which they have won 5 times since the category’s inception in 2004.

Voting in the Perth Dance Music Awards is now open to the public, with 30 categories to reflect the public’s choice in the Dance Music scene.
