It is with heavy hearts but clear minds the decision has been made to close Ambar.
The last night of trade will be Saturday 7 July with a closing party.

There are a number of considered factors; tough economic times over the last 2-3 years, the way people consume music and the fundamental change in the landscape of late night entertainment.
The business in its current format is not sustainable.

Ambar has impacted on many lives over the past two decades. The fabric of the extremely tight-knit community has forged lifelong friendships. Careers have been launched. Ambar has hosted hundreds of national and international acts as well as winning dozens of awards.

What we are most proud of is how we have championed and supported the local electronic music scene and continued to do so right to the end.
We would like to thank the loyal Ambar family of patrons, DJs, promoters and staff who have shared the wonderful journey.
You know who you are.

We invite anyone and everyone who has been a part of Ambar’s history to come down over the next few weeks and say goodbye to an old friend, or join us on our final night on Saturday 7 July.

The end.
