Stanton Warriors
Ahhh, the West Country: Cornwall (pasties), Devon (sausages*), Dominic Butler, Mark Yardly.
You got it – the reigning premiers of broken beat, the Stanton Warriors, are returning to Breakfest. In 2011, the divide between DJ and producer has never been more apparent – skilled at one -> not skilled at the other. Not so with our Stanton Warriors. Tunes from their latest offering, The Warriors, broke triple j’s Super Request breakbeat records – the album is full of sexy, rocky, booty-bass, smooth raps and bottom-heavy dubstep breakdowns. Oh, HELL YEAH!
Any Breakfester worth their salt will have golden Stanton memories; and in 2011 they are about to be the cherry on your Breakfest pie.
Get Up!
*Devon sausages are actually from South Australia, but that didn’t suit the point we were making.

Hollywood Holt
The Stanton Warriors debuted their ‘live soundsystem’ at Glastonbury last year with a cast of vocalists and rappers adding fresh flavour to classic Stanton originals. Dude, that sh*t went off! And, of course, Dom’s been dying to bring that experience, featuring the totes rockstar Hollywood Holt, to the one crowd who will lap it up more than any other, motherf*cker.
Us.
Makes sense, right?

A Skillz
Don’t you wish your big beat was hot like his?
A Skillz is hot. We know it. You wanted him back at Breakfest and we heard you. He’s here. With us. In the bowl. On Boxing Day.
It’s a beautiful, party breakbeat thing. We could spend hours spouting the virtues of the skills of Adam Mills – his eclectic musical influences, funk-fused deck talents, cheeky remixes – but you know all that. Trick-tricka-trick-tricka-tech-technology – try getting that earworm outta your head (can you believe it’s 8 years old?). Admit it; it still makes you want to wiggle your booty in that amphitheatre.
We have no choice but to do this to you one more time: A Skillz is a party-rocker who has proven his worth amongst the Breakfest massive. The funk’s about to hit the fan!

Illy
Are you addicted to the chase of your happiness? Illy is.
Melbourne MC Illy is to Aussie Hip Hop what Tupac was to West Coast rap. Think that’s a big call? Check out his second album, The Chase, one of triple j’s most bestest Feature Albums of 2010. It Can Wait featured darling Owl Eyes and was voted in at #29 in our national youth broadcasters most recent Hottest 100.
Don’t you love over-achievers? An Obese Records alumni, Illy’s been nominated for best Independent Single or EP and Best Hip Hop Album in the 2011 Jagermeister Independent Music Awards.
And just like you’re coming to Breakfest with your best mate, so is Illy. Joining the masterful MC is his good friend M-Phazes.
Fatter than ya mamma.

Netsky
Belgian waffles are NOT the tastiest thing to come out of Belgium.
Netsky is.
He’s earned a green-light journey through the ranks of drum ‘n bass, letting his tunes do all the talking. Netsky’s uplifting melodies and heavy dancefloor bass + beats deliver more aces than Kim Clijsters.
His powerful forehand smashed ‘Smile’ onto Hospitality’s ‘This is Drum + Bass’ and an equally whopping backhand in ‘Memory Lane’ on to Logistics’ Hospital Mix 8. Need more affirmation of Netsky’s superstardom? No less than four awards at the Drum & Bass Awards 2011 for ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’, ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’, ‘Best International Artist’ and ‘Best Liquid DJ’.
Netsky + Breakfest = Game. Set. Match.

Scratch Perverts
Prime Cuts makes us think of steak, and that’s cool.
Plus One makes us think of more, and that’s cooler.
Tony Vegas makes us think of bright lights and fun times, and that’s the coolest.
The Scratch Perverts are bad. Badmeaninggood, not bad meaning bad. While battles are a no-no in the crowds at Breakfest, they’re a HELL YEAH on stage! There is no question of the Perverts ability to cut and scratch like masters. F*ck Charlie Sheen, wanna talk about real ‘winning’? Try the inaugural DMC championships, two consecutive World Scratching titles, Vestax battle in 2000. Oh, Scratch Perverts, you are our DJ Heros (you and your hardest ever 5-track setlist in the original game, and two in DJ Hero 2).
We don’t really need to tell you anything else about the Scratch Perverts. If you’re a Breakfester, you already know. In fact, when you saw them on the lineup, you pee’d a little, didn’t you?
Quite simply, they are the bomb = explosive live with Mr Sheen shiny production values.

NAPT
That NAPT system of high pressure is about to unleash a cyclone at Breakfest…the combination of opposing forces – breakbeat, house and electro – results in the formation of an N-Funk front.
The bureau of breakbeateorology (aka Breakspoll) has acknowledged the power of the NAPT storm: Best Producer 2009 and 2010, Best Track 2009 and 2010 and Best Remix in 2009.
NAPT first had us with a wink at Breakfest 2009. The wooing continued at Major Break 2010 with a smile and a (head)nod. NAPT return to the Breakfest bowl in 2011 to take us to third base.
Hell, we may even let NAPT slide ride through to home.

SLYDE
Attention everyone – the party beats are most def’ in the house! Oh Slyde, Slyde, Slippidy Slide; how we love thee. Of course, we Breakfesters are big fans of Finger Lickin’ juice – and Slyde’s flavour is one of our favourites. Hip hop. Electro. Rave. House. Big beat. Slyde don’t split hairs when stirring sounds into their breakbeat mix. The result is always pure party, and that’s why they’re perfect for Breakfest.
Slyde cut their teeth releasing a string of bullets; from their debut, ‘Slippidy Slide’ to the outrageous ‘Sex n Drugs’, to the huge ’Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’(are you seeing a theme here?). The duo a rep for innovative re-edits and bootlegs in their sets, and boy do they know how to write a banging choon – check ‘em out on their own offshoot label Slybeats. Case-in-point: Move Ya Body dominated the Beatport charts, staying at #1 for weeks upon release.
Oh. Em. Gee; These boys know how to rock a Breakfest crowd. Guaranteed.

The Loops of Fury
The Loops of Fury are two Brisbane boys (currently living in London), previously known as Hyperion, reborn under a new banner, with a mighty sound which perfectly encapsulates their own personal ELECTRO-TECHNO manifesto.
Let’s break it down for you - imagine the Chemical Bro's Battle Weapons mashed up with the turbo-charged drive of Marco Bailey or Brodinski capped off with the production skills of a Dyson or a Gartner and you'd be in the right ballpark for the Loops' take-no-prisoners sound.
These furious Loops released 'I NEED', smashed the Beatport charts and picked up more followers on Radio 1 than Justin Bieber on Twitter (well, not quite – but it sounded impressive, didn’t it?).
The Loops, the Loops, the Loops are on FIRE!

The Substance
After selling out their debut album launch at Villa in January and smashing Parklife earlier in the year the Substance boys are ready to rejoin the festival circuit with a bang. Their high energy electro-punk show incorporates the sounds of big beat, electronica, DnB, hard breaks, grunge, rave and dubstep; all of which is manipulated, mashed and tortured through an extensive stage set up to create one BIG show.
Black & Blunt
Coffee and Cigarettes, bacon and eggs, aliens and predator.
Sometimes when two good things come together the result is greater than the sum of the parts. This is case with Two of Perth’s most prominent DJ / producers; Micah (Black) and Philly Blunt.
Drawing from years of DJing, multiple ITM and PDMA awards, numerous individual releases and a deep involvement in the Australian electronic music community, 2010 saw them kick off their studio partnership with a remix for Q45’s Yes Yes Records that smashed its way up the Beatport charts. Since then they’ve released a slew of originals, remixes and bootlegs on such labels as Lot49, Klub Kids and Ground Level gaining support from international DJs and the kids of the blogosphere alike.
