Villa Nightclub
Doors open at 9pm
2010 is the year of ‘storm’ and Perth is battening down the hatches for the biggest one yet - the winter go-to-gig is back with gale force.
Lock down your loose bits, clean out your gutters, renew your policies.
The biggest force in breakbeat, NAPT, is swirling with the thunderous sound that is Black Noise (Aquasky’s new project) and the Swedish El Nino effect – Peo De Pitte. Together, these guys are disturbing the state of the atmosphere; now this is a severe sound warning.
Major Break #7 is a wipeout of the most powerful forces in broken beat.
Expect a brew of breakbeat, electro, fidget house, rude basslines and a touch of something extra…
NAPT
BLACK NOISE
PEO DE PITTE
And a local line up highlighting:
THE BOOMTICK ELITE
A NAPT system of high pressure is developing offshore…the combination of opposing forces – breakbeat, house and electro – is about to result in the formation of an N-Funk front. The bureau of breakbeateorology (aka Breakspoll) has acknowledged the power of the NAPT storm: Best Producer 2009 and 2010, Best Track 2009 and 2010 and Best Remix in 2009. The UK duo were a force that swept us away at Breakfest 2009. Quite simply, they are the bomb = explosive live with Mr Sheen shiny production values.
Black Noise is an unnatural catastrophe. Three producers from the south coast of the UK return for the third cycle of their cyclone – rising out of the ashes of Aquasky comes the deafening roar that is Black Noise. The crew has always been followed by a cycle of seven – in 2009, seven years after Aquasky made the fulltime leap to breakbeat; they were reborn with a fresh new sound.
Combining basement rhythms, 4/4 beats, old school vibes and classic breakbeat, Black Noise is yet to be branded but always discussed. Designed to make the ladies bounce and the fellas break, the lights to flicker and the speakers to shake - here’s to seven fine years of noise.. Black Noise!
A Swede living in London, Peo De Pitte aka ‘The Remix King’ is one of the most sought after remix producers on the industry. After breaking into the industry with three massive viral remixes: Marcus Rombo’s ‘Bringing’; the Drummatic Twins’ ‘Crazy Love’ and a remix for his own ‘Be My Baby’, Peo was nominated for Best Remix and Best Breakthrough Producer at the 2010 International Breakspoll Awards. If you find yourself regularly getting down to the likes of Fake Blood, Krafty Kuts, Sinden and the Plump DJs then Peo De Pitte is the Swede to feed you!
Seize this rare opportunity to see a festival sized line-up at one huge night-time event at Villa, the heart of the underground.
