Following the success of its debut night in April, The Likes of You is pleased to announce its second Perth show for 2010. Showcasing an array of techno for faithfuls, fanatics and even just the curious, the next round of TLOY is set to build on the growing number of techno lovers who are hungry for the 4/4 sound.
  The Likes of You will take place at Villa on Saturday 10 July and will feature the following international artists:
STEPHAN BODZIN Re:Live (Germany)
“Authenticity is everything - without it everything would appear to be nothing more than a hollow shell” says German DJ and live artist Stephan Bodzin, who has found himself at the centre of the international techno scene since 2006.
Hailing from Bremen and originally a composer for several prestigious European theatres, Bodzin’s unique talent and thirst for originality has seen him collaborate with highly regarded artists such as Oliver Huntemann, Thomas Schumacher and Marc Romboy. Most recently he has remixed songs for well-known bands such as Depeche Mode, Booka Shade and The Knife.
Bodzin created his own record label called "HERZBLUT" in 2006 where he found the ideal creative framework for his endeavours. His solo productions have done nothing but raise his worldwide profile even more and he now has the freedom of an individual artist with a worldwide audience. DJ Hell has dubbed Bodzin's tunes as the "Bremen sound". Bodzin’s music is as polarizing as he is, both as DJ and live artist. He describes himself as a "melody man" since “after all, it’s the melodies that endure.”
HUGO (Italy)
Italy’s Hugo (Ugo Basile) is a classically trained jazz musician who fell in love with electronic music in the 90s. Following the tradition of his spiritual fathers, Hugo has
embarked on a journey into finding his own style – sexy, loose, riff-oriented and danceable – and is constantly improving his ability to amalgamate distinct sounds into a cohesive whole. Despite this conceptual framework, Hugo never takes himself too seriously, always maintaining a sense of humour in his production work.
In order to satisfy his thirst for new sounds, Hugo founded the net label ‘Tonimusic’ in 2006. On a wider scale, Hugo has released tracks and 12”s on some of the most
interesting techno/house labels worldwide: TuningSpork, Floppy Funk, Hartchef Discos and Claque Musique.
His brassy hit single “The Sloop” was heard in clubs throughout Europe in summer 2008 and his international profile has increased since performing in some of the best clubs worldwide: Fabric (London), Watergate (Berlin) and Goa Club (Rome), plus festivals Elettrowave (Florence) and Panorama (Naples).
Hugo blends together the artificial and the organic and uses tension and pacing for a powerful effect on the dancefloor. He considers his productions and performance not as a break with the electronic music of the past, but as a reinvention of the music of today.
