Ambar Niteclub
Doors open at 10pm
Straight out of London’s East End, DJ Zinc had always been synonymous with drum ‘n bass – delivering the anthemic Super Sharp Shooter which laid the foundations for his illustrious career. A career which saw him included in the ‘British Music Experience’ alongside the Beatles and Sex Pistols. The permanent exhibition in London’s 02 Arena, chronologically documents the major contributors to contemporary British music.
In 2007, he turned his back on drum ‘n bass – refusing to take bookings to play d’n’b. And we love him for it.
DJ Zinc spent ’08 in a cocoon of creativity and emerged playing a hybrid of House sounds – deep to funky to fidget. It was a sound that didn’t fit into any existing genre.
‘Blunt Edge’ has Berlin loft-party elements with driving bass tones and woozy synths give it a euphoric, early-90’s rave vibe.
As the main man at his own label, Bingo Beats, DJ Zinc describes his music as ‘Crack House’ – a self-described genre he believes in so much he named his latest release ‘Crack House’.
His banging single off that album is Wile Out featuring Miss Dynamite – his scond biggest release ever.
Warning – wear protective gear ‘cos DJ Zinc will be devastating the dancefloor.
