Ambar Niteclub
Doors Open at 10pm
Diverted have rapidly established themselves as one of the most innovative electronic artists around, through their live monthly residency at Ali B's Air night they’ve played alongside acts like Rennie Pilgrem’s TCR Allstars, The Bays, Kraak & Smaak, Minuit and The London Breakbeat Orchestra.
Diverted have displayed an unabashed restraint towards genres but their dirty bass ridden breakbeat roots are still intact. Their productions though, still exhibit a strong lashing of electronica and techno and even a shade or two of Jazz.
With each show, their sound constantly evolves through the regular addition of new musicians and vocalists. Songs are often written and then road tested the very same day. At Diverted’s core are Stephen Baxter and Lee Richardson, who between them have been responsible for a number of releases across labels such as TCR, Solokov Sounds and Ali B’s Air Recordings label which has gained them huge support amongst scene stalwarts. Their own Diverted Traffic label has been responsible for helping to establish artists such as Mr No Hands, General Electrik and Dekoy.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness a Diverted DJ set, the first of 2010 as they take it back to the old skool where they started on TCR (Rennie Pilgrem's label). Diverted will be playing a mix of classic electro/ breaks/ indie disco /baltimore plus stuff from their debut self titled studio album "Diverted". Currently they are back in the studio working on their follow up album and they hope to test some of these future bangers on the tour.
