Skool of Thought is more than just a DJ; he’s a promoter, producer, label owner: a true pioneer and ambassador of beats, breaks and bass! Everyone from A-Skills, to General Midi to Stanton Warriors rate Nick Thayer as one of Australia’s finest DJs… You know where you should be on December 18!
Do you remember the last time Skool of Thought smashed the console at Villa? You know that he is THE man when it comes to performance - 
Skool Of Thought has played a fundamental role within the world of ‘nu skool’ breaks since its birth in the late nineties. As the driving force behind the award winning Against The Grain & SuperCharged record labels, he has helped steer the successful careers of his artists including Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, Deekline & Wizard, Ed Solo, and Splitloop. As an artist, he is the guy responsible for the enormous Groove Armada ‘Superstylin’ breaks remix, the ‘Heavyweight Breaks’ mix series of albums, anthemic singles such as ‘Love Your Life’ and ‘When I Was A Yout’ and his acclaimed ‘Random Acts Of Kindness’ LP.
Today, he is based in Australia and once again forging new ground and pushing new sounds with the launch of his label ‘Cool & Deadly’ with fellow DJ Tayo. This new venture is for those DJs (and enthusiasts) who have an appreciation for bass music in all its forms. The aim of the label is to explore all the music that falls into the space between breaks, dubstep, dub, garage and beyond.
 Nick Thayer is no stranger to Perth – and he has wowed and bedazzled on every trip he’s made to Ambar. His Villa debut is bound to be huge! Every Nick Thayer set is something special: Every track he plays he has touched - Blogs don’t have it, kids can’t get it, the average Joe wants it, but that’s what you pay to hear. Expect a set to be his edit, his exclusive, his new one, his remix, his mash up, his lick shot one time air horn. It’s got his funk “all over your face”.
Over 30 ‘official’ releases to date, a wild amount of remixes and sample packs with publishing gold, TV ads and a Breakspoll Award all under his belt – “Oh What a Feeling!!!!”.
