FORCE MAJEURE burst onto the Perth scene only a year ago with the mission to push the tougher sounds of breaks, tech and house. Since then, the crew has presented a string of diverse and dynamic nights which have also included dnb and dubstep to the mix, as well as showcased established Australian artists such as Bitrok, The Impossibles and ShockOne. Having also built up a loyal following on FORCE MAJEURE RADIO on the world’s best breaks station ‘NSB Radio’, the crew have more than enough reason to celebrate FM’s first birthday… and the show they have planned for you will give you every reason to celebrate too!
 FORCE MAJEURE is proud to present three emerging artists who are all making waves in the international scene:
Nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at the Breakspoll awards in 2009, D*FUNK (UK) will bring his unique mix of breaks, electro and (most importantly) funk to the festivities. He has released tracks on Dusted Breaks, Nitrous, Dandy Kid and Westway, as well as his own label Up:Start Music. This Englishman has been DJing since he was 14 and is sure to fire up the party in a massive way!
Touted as “exceptionally talented crew” by Meat Katie and having received massive support from Elite Force aka the pioneer of tech funk, LOOPS OF FURY (Qld) weigh in on the line-up and are sure to blow the roof off Ambar! Originally producing tracks and performing as ‘Hyperion’, their tunes have been loved and played by many an Ambar resident, as well as picked up by some of the biggest names in the business like Sasha, D Ramirez and the Plump Djs to name a few. Their music fuses some of the strongest elements of breakbeat, electro and tech funk and FM seriously cannot wait to see these two boys in action!
No stranger to the Perth massive, dubstepper KITO (Per) will grace the Ambar decks with her amazing style and talent. This girl from WA’s down south Denmark is the latest rising star of a growing young dubstep elite. Keeping company with the likes of Skream, Kulture and Joker, her sound has been described by BBC Radio1’s Mary Anne Hobbs as “a poetic take on dubstep”.
Alongside these three heavyweights, longstanding Ambar resident WISH will be closing out the night as only he can. As if that storming line up wasn’t enough, Force Majeure head-honchos MONO LISA and PHILLY BLUNT will again be teaming up to tear Ambar a new fire exit.
Birthday parties don’t get much bigger than this, so bring your game face and get ready to throw down!
