Few names in dance music truly transcend genre, style and classification like Hybrid. Mike Truman & Chris Healings as Hybrid have released a string of successful albums and mix compilations, and have toured the world as both DJs and live band. They have conquered the world electronic music scene with a sound that is nothing short of massive. However, aside from creating dancefloor hits of their own, or remixing everyone from Radiohead to Moby, Hybrid have also become known for their work scoring films such as Man on Fire, Domino and The Chronicles of Narnia.

Hybrid “We’re on the opposite end of minimal—more maximal really,” explains Mike Truman “It’s ingrained in us. We’ve always wanted these expansive sounds behind everything, which makes our songs so cinematic.” “Making big noises is what we do” adds Healings. “It’s our calling card. But whether we use electronics, string orchestras, or brass, our songs always take the listener somewhere, which is where the cinematic tag comes from.”

‘Cinematic’, ‘progressive’, ‘driving’, ‘Techy’ are all labels applied to the juggernaut that is Hybrid, but none truly capture the diversity of this duo and the sound they deliver. You never really know what to expect with a Hybrid DJ set – they go everywhere and throw in whatever works to simultaneously get people moving and create a real listening experience. Breaks, house, techno, electro - they start from a base of quality music, then “electronically destroy it”, make it their own and “‘Hybrid’ it”.
