Another hard hitting duo for your audio pleasure at Villa Nightclub! This time ‘round you’re getting the crème de la crème of Against the Grains repertoire of artists – Deekline and Skool of Thought.

As a youngster, Deekline started collecting records inspired by funk and electro, before becoming interested in hardcore and jungle; which led him to being at the forefront of breakbeat culture from its birth. He has become an iconic name within the breakbeat, Miami bass and dance scenes, creating his own unique sound of breakbeat with an electro twist.

Deekline’s collaboration with studio partner Wizard, has led to the duo being recognised more prominently as one of breakbeat’s most impressive production partnerships. Very recently released and crossing vast stylistic planes with the unflinching swagger of a bare knuckle boxer, ‘Back Off Coming Through’ is stunning evidence of a production duo at the height of their mercurial powers.

If you had to list the top 10 hottest DJ / producers in breakbeat, Skool Of Thought would be a dead cert for a podium finish. Founder of Supercharged and Against the Grain Records, and the more fledgling Cool & Deadly label, Skool Of Thought’s debut album ‘Random Acts Of Kindness’ was extremely well received, and it’s no wonder he was recently hailed as “the best international DJ this year” by promoters in New Zealand.

Cool & Deadly, run by Skool of Thought and Tayo was recently awarded 'Best New Label' at Breakspoll 2008, their most recent release being from the man himself. Being described as scatty breaks with driving basslines and “tightly packed, pocket rocket which will have your head nodding at breakneck speed”, anticipation is mounting for what Perth will experience at Villa!
