Every year the WA Nightclub Association throws what has become the most eagerly awaited industry bash in Perth. This year is set to storm the stage at Metro City for another decked out and frocked up show- stopping party.

Ever sit back and think about what you wanted to be when you were ten years old? Dreams of being a fireman, a nurse, a pilot or a doctor long since quashed by real life? Now’s your chance to come out in style at the 13th Annual Nocturnal Ball!

This year’s theme is “When I Grow Up”, so it’s time to think back, dress up and step out to the industry’s most highly anticipated night of nights.

Showcasing West Australian DJs, stage performances and entertainment all night long!

2009 sees a showcase of WA talent like no Nocturnal Ball before

The night will be hosted by Perth funny man, Ben Russell, fresh from a recent season with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival! As for the stage: Performers that have hit Broadway, a drag team to inspire sweet dreams and a piece illustrating all our hopes and desires from when we were young, all to visually delight. There will also be circus acts, pole dancers, contortionists and fire breathers, all roaming the floor.

Along with the stage performers we have a selection of some of Perth’s finest DJs and live acts, ranging from Simon Barwood with a flash back to the ‘90’s set, to two time #1 Urban/RNB DJ - DJ Skooby, to the funky broken beats of the Audiofiles (Paul Malone and JMC) and then on to the live and electronic styling’s of The Transients.

There will be a prize for the Best Dressed so be sure to get there early to go in the running!

A little more on the stage performances:

Burn the floor
After tearing it up on Broadway (yes, THAT Broadway) Perth’s own Jason Gilkinson is bringing his dancing spectacular back to Perth. This is ballroom dancing but not as we know it. No sequins or big hair, this is hot, fast, sexy dancing with some of the best dancers that this country has got. The show is being performed at the regal theatre but they're doing one special night for us at the Nocturnal Ball.

Sweet Dreams
Ten boys, girls and drags doing their best androgynous Annie Lennox, marching in formation like some twisted eastern-bloc army this number was the hit of last year’s pride party getting a standing ovation from nearly 2000 stomping and yelling punters. Performed to a pumped up and driving remix of the Eurythmics, sweet dreams (are made of these), this number will have your hair standing on end and will get the party started in earnest.

When I Grow Up
Presented by Michaela Maher and the crew from Crazy, Sexy, Cool, this number is about all the things we might be when we grow up. Sexy firemen, dirty nurses, rock-stars, fighter pilots and more. With over 20 performers on stage working their way through all the cool things we wanna be, this show has models, dancers, contortionists and fire-breathers. Hell, some of us wanna run away and join the circus... working in this industry may well be the same thing!

Further to these there will be action happening all night around the room with circus acts, pole dancers, buskers and other general mayhem throughout the night. All of this (and the antics of you, our guests) will be photographed and videoed live and replayed to giant screens in the foyer and on stage throughout the night. You won't know which way to look...
